What is health coaching?

Health coaching is a specialist form of coaching, focused on health and wellbeing. It is about creating the time, space and structure for you to work out what great health really means to you - and how you are going to achieve it. I do not prescribe certain diets, exercise regimes or other lifestyle interventions - instead, health coaching helps you to work out what is right for you.

Why should I invest in health coaching sessions?

So many of us lead incredibly busy lives, and are living with stress, fatigue, excess weight or pain. What would you give to feel energised, purposeful, well rested and healthy? Health coaching is an investment in you, your wellbeing and your long term health. The benefits are so wide ranging and so profound, both for you and those around you.

How is health coaching different to personal training, therapy and nutritional advice?

Health coaches do not prescribe exercise regimes or dietary plans, nor do we use psychological talking therapies. The approach is client-centered and highly practical, focussed on empowering every individual to work out what changes they want to make. Advice and suggestions are only given if useful to the client.

Will you give me a diet plan?

No - but I can help review your current diet and make suggestions. Every single person is different and there is no 'one size fits all' solution. My approach to food is to avoid diets - and to focus instead on embedding a way of eating which is nutritious, enjoyable and sustainable.

Is health coaching all about food and exercise?

No - what great health means to you is totally unique. You might have a great diet but struggle with stress and sleep. You might want to focus on how to integrate more movement into your daily life. Or you might want to focus on time management and prioritisation so you feel energised and in control. Anything and everything that affects your health and wellbeing is within scope - these are your sessions and this is your life.

How do your sessions run?

I treat every single client as an individual. My coaching sessions are entirely tailored to you - your challenges, your goals and your life. There are no assumptions or judgements, and I will never tell you what to do. Instead, the focus is on you - giving you the space, time and structure you need to feel clear, resourceful and empowered.

My approach is to really listen to what it is you want to achieve and ask the right questions so that you can think through how to move forwards. I provide structure and accountability to help you set up new habits and routines, and stick to them. And I'm your biggest champion and supporter, both during sessions themselves and in between - I will help hold you accountable and support you every step of the way.

When is the right time to invest in health coaching?

If you're feeling frustrated or unhappy about your health and wellbeing, and you're ready to do something about it - then that is the perfect time to invest in health coaching.

You need to be ready and open to making lifestyle changes, prepared to explore what it is you really want, and commit to a set of actions that will eventually become habitual. Health coaching isn't a magic bullet or a prescriptive list of activities - you are central to the process, which is why it works so well. You commit to a set of actions that work for you, that fit with your life, and will give you the results that you want.
